Inside, three images of medieval madonnas are juxtaposed to family snapshots of the artist’s mother and brother. This correlation is intended to raise questions about the messages sent to a daughter. What place does she have in the world if the only child of god is a son? How does the mother-daughter relationship withstand the limited models of women in Christian/Catholic tradition?
