Using the same overall form as Reliquary for Art History, Reliquary for Renaissance Art investigates the struggle of teaching in higher education. Discarded slides, including images of Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, and others, are included in this “fifteen-week semester.” Golden ladders traverse floors and ceilings with limited access to the Professor’s attic “office.” The running bird image on the reverse is isolated from decorative papers of the Renaissance - a symbol of the constant exertion required to advance within the halls of higher learning.
